Rex Wempen - Leading Global Technology and Infrastructure Projects
With experience in developing and deploying AI technology systems for over two decades, Rex Wempen's experience extends to a past role with the National Security Agency where he led a contracted company team of scientists and programmers to develop an AI orchestrated streaming data analytics platform capable of supporting multiple agencies. Previous work with the Defense Intelligence Agency as a cyber team leader was supplemented by subsequent work as a consultant supporting cyber programs at the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, and Energy deploying new industrial automation and cyber tools for both government and industry owned critical infrastructure has provided both operational and policy level experience to support current clients.
Rex Wempen has significant energy sector experience as well. Mr. Wempen’s additional work as a Washington, D.C. based infrastructure and energy project consultant has involved collaborative efforts with development finance institutions and foreign commercial banks as he led teams that originated and developed upstream and midstream energy projects and later, battery plant manufacturing projects. He formed partnerships teaming energy investment platforms with engineering, procurement and construction companies to develop strategic project plans in the U.S. and internationally. He has briefed congressional members and maintained working relationships with government officials around the globe.
A thought leader in his field, Rex Wempen is a member of the Bretton Woods Commitee, where he supports the AI working group. He has been an attendee at the Annual IMF and World Bank Meetings since 2014, and has written dozens of articles on energy economics and technology policy for publications such as European Capital Insights and Europe in Review.
Rex Wempen now serves as a managing director with Pantek Securities. He engages with clients in areas that include energy and technology enabled manufacturing and leverage his dual background in energy and technology.
